PRSP members gathered again this year for the Society’s 2nd General Membership Meeting (GMM). The event was sponsored by our gracious friends from the Development Bank of the Philippines.
Welcoming guests that afternoon were hosts Teddy Perena and Louie Sebastian, who introduced Director for GMMs Jude Galford for his opening remarks. PRSP President Andy Saracho, APR then delivered his report, highlighting PRSP’s recent Professional Development sessions and the major wins of PRSP members during the 2nd ASEAN PR Excellence Awards. He also announced the forthcoming 26th National PR Congress with the theme “Amplify,” and enumerated the major events of the Society in the next few months. These include PR caravans in various colleges and universities, a Raise The Flag CSR project, the Students’ PR Congress and Grand Prix, and the ratification of amendments in PRSP’s by-laws,
Director Janine Dario then introduced the event’s special guest speaker, columnist and grief coach, Cathy Sanchez Babao. Cathy shared her insights on achieving mental health and wellness in the workplace, tackling such issues as the factors that contribute to mental health problems, what makes for a healthy workplace, and strategies to promote mental health and wellness.
After the talk, past president Jones Campos, APR announced that the association’s accreditation program is on and invited members who wish to be accredited in PR to apply. This was followed by the induction of new PRSP members, Samantha Betia, Knoll Villanueva, and Cess Derit-Del Rosario. The afternoon ended with members greeting those celebrating their birthdays this quarter and with the raffling off of special prizes.
