For the Society’s 3rd General Membership Meeting (GMM) last August 25, members trooped to the Rockwell Club in Makati and enjoyed an enlightening afternoon with fellow PR practitioners and friends.
As guests took to their seats, the were serenaded by musical duo, Arquilados. Hosts Louie Sebastian and Teddy Perena then opened the session, calling on GMM Chairman Jude Galford for his welcome remarks.
This was followed by the report of PRSP President Andy Saracho, APR, who detailed the association’s ongoing activities, highlighting PRSP’s collaboration with the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) to create a masters degree program for PR practitioners and other persons interested in PRĀ· The degree program will be known as Master of Arts in Communication, Major in Public Relations and Corporate Communication, and the first trimester will start this November 2019.
The event’s guest speaker, journalist and financial literacy advocate Salve Duplito, delivered a talk on executing fiinancial literacy programs. She shared her thoughts on saving money and why educating the marginalized to save is crucial. “Money is never the most important thing, but when you have it, you can do the things that are most important,” she stressed.
PR Congress Chair Ana Pista then shared updates on the event happening in September, and offered members at the GMM a discounted rate of P12,000 if they registered on the spot.
The following new members were also inducted at the GMM: 1) Rhinnon Pamintuan (Corporate Social Responsibility Officer of Teledirect Philippines); 2) Nikki Constantino (PR & Corporate Communications Senior Manager, Customer Strategy & Experience of AXA Philippines); and Ney Villasenor (VP & Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Globe Fintech Innovations). And finally, members with birthdays in Q3 were treated to an early celebration. They were: Jude Galford, Nikki Constantino, and Knoll Villanueva.
